August 24, 2016 Tornado hits Kokomo Indiana. I was only 50 yards away when it turned East.

Recommend for everyone! I love this app! I was at a friend's house and all of a sudden a tornado siren went off on my phone. It was letting me know a warning was issued for the area I was in. We had no idea because we weren't watching TV or listening to the radio. It also lets you add places and contact info for loved ones in other places.

Please fix! When I first downloaded this app, it worked great. But now, it never alerts me even though I have several locations on alert and have push notifications turned on. The weather channel alerted me of a tornado watch issued in my are and I have been checking the ARC tornado app for nearly ten minutes and it still has not alerted me of anything.

App Name Deceiving The app works great. However, when there is an alert notification and I swipe down to view it, the first thing I see is "TORNADO Alert." So, in the middle of the night when it wakes me up it makes me panic thinking I am in imminent danger of a Tornado. I live in Tornado Alley, so it is a real fear and definitely anxiety inducing, especially when that is the first thing that pops up when there is an alert.

Alerts won't load. I loved this app in the beginning. However, I can no longer look at the warnings in the app. I get the notification and can read it when I click on my phone notifications. But when I open the app it says there was an error and to check Internet connection. Very annoying. It always sometimes warns me hours after the threat is gone.

Ugh...Disgusted to say the least!!! The app gives out warnings but not where it is needed which is my location. Said we were under tornado warning but guess what...the warned area was over 200 miles away and the storm that produced the warning was headed into Southern Georgia NOT North Alabama!!!!

Best there is. Downloaded this app because of a recommendation from a Fire Cheif. Now everyone in my circle is using it. Gave us a "siren" alert before we even heard the ones in town go off. Alerted us quickly & kepted us updated. If you want to keep your family safe... Download this app.
It has its problems I have a few towns selected for notification. It works great to a point. I have my settings set on a 25-50 mile radius alert for tornadoes. The siren goes off before I'm notified by any other source, which is great. The problem I'm having is that it keeps alerting me of thunderstorms, tornadoes, and watches from other states and areas that I don't need and have not chosen. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi Jeff- So sorry for the trouble you're having with the app. Can you please follow the below steps so we can identify the issue you're experiencing.
1. Tap the Menu in the left hand corner of the screen
2. Tap Leave Feedback
3. Select E-mail
4. Enter Feedback and press send Does not work at all Installed and all set up. Had two tornado's touch down just miles from my home and warnings were issued. This app did not do anything at all. No warning, no notification, nothing Nada zilch. Don't waste hour time installing it.
Really ARC? I downloaded this because with the Red Cross name I thought it would be dependable... Lol... it tells me there are no current alerts and the last tstorm alert was 4 hours ago while a massive storm rages outside. Thanks for the accuracy! Ha! And you can't even blame it on location as I'm in the middle of a large metropolitan city. Useless. Deleted.
Bugged, fails to load alerts says to check my internet Fails to load alerts, recheck internet connection. My internet has no issues. Last year app worked. I have locations turned on in settings on phone. LG G5 marshmallow 6.0. **ALSO** please give an option to turn off thunderstorm alerts. We really don't care about that in Kansas, it's no big deal. **AND** when warnings pop up please say anything EXCEPT your name of app "tornado" when it's NOT a tornado. I had multiple panic attacks last year because it's the first thing you see waking up from dead sleep.
Why am I getting tornado warnings for 40 miles to my northeast ?!?! I continuously get tornado warnings for Fannin county, Texas even though I have my settings for Collin county only. These storms are 40-50 miles to my northeast, moving northeast and I should NOT be getting warnings.
didn't work I have my settings "on" but they are inactive (buttons are faint red & don't show off and on). The siren didn't work. I have - app mgr/tornado/show notifications active. Phone volumetric was on. This used to work. Sounds slide buttons the Emergency app were active (green). It used to work but siren doesn't anymore. I want a siren at night again when I'm traveling ! !
Early Warnings Every Time I install this every year during tornado season. Oklahoma is one of the states hardest hit by tornadoes and I have a young child and elderly parents so we rely on those extra minutes. Great job.
Wouldn't update Kept telling me that it could not update my settings, couldn't save them. Said to check my Internet connection. Tried it on and off of wifi but still nothing. Also didn't like that it wouldn't provide alerts unless location was on, even though I provided a zip code to monitor. Otherwise, the layout was nice and simple. Too bad it didn't work. Uninstalled.
Alerts Too much. I don't need 6 alerts, in not much more than 30 minutes, for the same area. That doesn't make you more relevant. It just makes you like a 5 year old, that won't shut up, because it's excited. It also lead to my deleting the area, and has me considering a 1 star review, and deleting your annoying program.
Awesome,but... I love everything about it, except that it gives me alerts for areas nowhere near me. I get freaked out when I hear the siren (please don't change the sound, it's good that it freaks me out. 😀) but I get scared when I hear the alert, and it's for somewhere like new jersey! Please, change it so the location is more accurate. Thanks so much!
Awesome anywhere I've traveled! This is easy to use, you can setup areas you want to monitor, and if you activate your location ability it will alert you to danger in your immediate area. Perfect for travelers, campers, and those who want to be safe at all times. When there is a Tornado WARNING the phone will actually sound a siren while announcing "Tornado Warning". You can alert people that you are safe with the push of a button and SO much more! I HIGHLY recommend everyone add this immediately and then tell everyone you know to add it
Didn't work Did not sound alarm when we were under a Tornado Warning last night. I had all of the notifications selected and correct area selected. Tornado did damage to a neighborhood not far from us. Very dissapointed.
Warnings Why am I getting warnings for places 60+ miles away from me. I fixed my radius and put it at 25 miles and I'm still getting those warnings. HELP. I wrote that in August and all getting warnings that are over 100 miles away. Grrrrrrrrrrr they didn't fix it so I deleted this damn app. Tried of being woke up freaking out to find its even close to me.
Doesn't work Sitting in my basement listening to tornado sirens going off. Cable is out and this app isn't working. Failure to find connection and error occurred. Some people depend on this app. Thanks for absolutely nothing.
Loses Location Does not load alerts and keeps saying can't find location. Also had a tornado touch down and the alert went off after the tornado passed us. How's that helpful?!?
Love it Its very useful and extremely accurate but how do I extend the coverage area? I want to cover up to 20 miles to get more alerts than what's just for my local area.
Feel more secure! Love the app!! I feel much safer knowing this app is helping monitor the weather for my family and I. I also love the alerts, features of alerting loved ones, and being able to monitor the storms after the TV has been knocked out by storms.
Garbage Fails to load. Says "Check your Internet Connection." 4G high speed data connection active, all other apps work. This one is GARBAGE!!!
Wonderful app Very helpful app that works really well, but naming it tornado was a sick joke. In my first storm i almost messed myself when tornado popped up 3 times on my notification bar!
Helpful, but please rename your app Every push notification starts with "Tornado", which immediately makes me nervous, because I think it's saying there is a tornado warning. Please restructure your notifications, to be less ambiguous.
Not impressed I used to live this app, but it hasn't worked properly in quite some time! If I get any alerts at all, they aren't for the areas I am concerned about. Also, every time I try to designate a location or check for alerts, I get an error message. I'm disappointed because this was the best weather alert app I had found, now it's just a waste of space.

Hi Katrina, could you reach out to us by emailing us at mobile@redcross.org and we can try and resolve your issue After the fact I've used this app for about a year now, and the time between when severe weather alerts are issued by the national weather service and when this app generates an alarm is between 15 and 30 minutes, which is way too long of a delay when it comes to seeking shelter from a tornado. The other features are useful.
Francis Gigantic As a designer I really appreciated the smoothness and calming influence that the UEX had while I was in the middle of a tornado watch at 4am and running around the house making sure the canoe didn't fly into the windows and debating whether to wake up my kids and have everybody jump into the hallway under a mattress. Somehow I knew everything was going to be OK, because somebody had designed a really cool app. I wish it had a link to a real time weather map.
Alerts are HOURS late or not at all This app hasn't worked properly in nearly a year. Tonight, I received a tornado warning an hour after the warning ended and just got a Tornado watch notification labeled as being reported at 6:59 pm. It ended at 7 pm and showed on my phone at 7:03 pm. The current edition of this app is a waste of memory space.
Not sure about this yet I get tornado warnings and thunderstorm warnings through the weather channel app about 15 minutes before this app notifies me...and that's if it notifies me at all. I really want this to work cause it actually makes a loud siren noise which can wake me up as opposed to TWCs sound, but I just can't trust it to be as accurate and up to date with notifications as other apps
It didn't warn us! We had a bad thunderstorm the other night and a tornado not far from us and this app didn't warn us at all.
Great app Quick warning and siren goes off to wake you when sleeping. Siren is kind of loud but necessary when one is on the ground near you. We have had a few warnings this morning.
LIFE SAVING!!! My friend got hit by a tornado yesterday and he knew it was going to happen because I told him!
Okay BUT... .This app sends out amber alerts which sound like sirens. There seems to be no way to turn them off. Any one have ideas?
Doesn't work well with Android 6.0 Needs to be updated to work correctly with Android 6.0 marshmallow. I keep getting "fails to load error". Used to be a good app until I updated my phone to marshmallow... now I get that error all the time.
Everyone needs this! I'm so glad I find a app to alert me to bad weather especially at night when my family is asleep. Tornadoes are no joke, one hit our town of Hubbard, Ohio and from that day on I take bad weather seriously.
Sweet My question is. How can I set up the severe weather alert through a text messaging do I don't have my Internet data usage on?
Do not count on this when you need it! This past week, where I live was in the area where there was severe weather and tornadoes. I downloaded this app the day before so I would be alerted if there was a tornado watch or warning. I also downloaded other apps (the weather channel, NOAA radar) the same day. Come Wednesday I get not a peep from this app. While my other apps are going crazy altering me to the tornado watch in my area and eventually the warnings that were for my county. Thankfully I didn't count on this app and neither should you.

What's New
We heard some users were finding the grey font hard to read so we've now made it black
We know some of you use larger font sizes on your phone's so now we observe that too and make the alerts nice and big
Some of you reported a bug where our app was using too much space so we put the app on a little diet meaning you can have that space back.
Fixed a bug where deleting monitored locations would incorrectly report success when it wasn't. We recommend pulling down to refresh your locations.
