The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Metropolitan Planning Organization area covers well over 10,000 square miles. It is home to more than 33,000 employers with five or more employees comprising of 1.4 million jobs. Given the vast area of the MAG region, how can we understand employment at a micro scale? MAG collects data for two spatial datasets that can address this question. The 2013 MAG Employer Database and the 2014 Job Centers Regional Database are analyzed to explore the nuanced economy within the Valley.
