AMENDMENTS TO THE FEDERAL RULES OF PRACTICE AND PROCEDURE (IMPORTANT INFORMATION)

Congress has taken no action on the proposed amendments to the Federal Rules of Appellate, Bankruptcy, Civil, and Criminal Procedure, adopted by the Supreme Court and transmitted to Congress on April 28, 2016. Under the Rules Enabling Act, 28 U.S.C. §§ 2071-75, amendments to the rules take effect today, December 1, 2016.

New local rules effective today; other revised local rules being published for comment today

The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri announces that revisions to Local Rules 6.03, 12.01, 13.03, and 13.04 will take effect today, December 1, 2016 as proposed. Proposed Local Rules 2.08 and 8.03 have been amended and are being re-circulated for comment through December 31, 2016, with a proposed effective date of February 1, 2017.

MISCELLANEOUS FEES (INFORMATION)

At its September 2016 session, the Judicial Conference approved inflationary adjustments to fees on the appellate, district, and bankruptcy court miscellaneous fee schedules, as well as on the Court of Federal Claims and the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation miscellaneous fee schedules.
