Paper Copy of E-filings Required
Pursuant to Local Rule 5.2(f), a paper copy of all electronically-filed documents other than an appearance form or a return of service must be provided for the judge within a day after the filing, unless the judge determines that a paper copy is not required.
Because not all judges require paper copies of all documents, please consult the courts website, www.ilnd.uscourts.gov and visit the assigned judge's page to determine his/her requirements. Note that for those judges who do require paper copies, a paper copy of any newly-filed complaint must be furnished to chambers within one business day.
