This is the operational Web Site for the Eastern Geographic Science Center (EGSC) High-Performance Computing Cluster (HPCC). The EGSC HPCC is a Beowulf, a cluster of eighteen computers interconnected by a private, high-speed network. This facility is operated by the Eastern Geographic Science Center primarily to support the development and operation of computationally-intensive models and applications in land-change science and quantitative geography.

This Web site has two functions:

1. Providing General and Technical Information: this site provides information about the capabilities and availability of this computational facility for USGS researchers who may require computational support; and
2. Providing a Web Interface: this site provides Web access to the applications and jobs hosted on the EGSC HPCC.
