Welcome to the Dietary Supplement Ingredient Database (DSID)

The Dietary Supplement Ingredient Database (DSID) provides estimated levels of ingredients in dietary supplement products sold in the United States. The DSID is intended primarily for research applications. The DSID was developed by the Nutrient Data Laboratory within the Agricultural Research Service, in collaboration with the Office of Dietary Supplements at NIH and other federal agencies.

New! DSID-3

The third release of the DSID provides access, for the first time, to analytically-validated estimates of ingredient content for non-prescription prenatal multivitamin/minerals (MVMs) and omega-3 fatty acid supplements. These estimates were derived from the chemical analysis of representative non-prescription prenatal MVMs and omega-3 fatty acid supplements.

The DSID 3.0 release also includes adult and children's MVM data, which replace the DSID 2.0 data. The previously released data were updated with diversified regression models and modified label ranges for equations, application tables and on-line calculators of estimated ingredient content. All of these data are appropriate for use in population studies of nutrient intake rather than for assessing individual products.
