	NOAA Cooperative Institutes The NOAA Cooperative Institutes are academic and non-profit research institutions that demonstrate the highest level of performance and conduct research that supports NOAA's Mission Goals and Strategic Plan. Cooperative Institutes are located at institutions whose geographic expanse extends from Hawaii to Maine and from Alaska to Florida. Currently, NOAA supports 16 Cooperative Institutes consisting of 42 universities and research institutions across 23 states and the District of Columbia NOAA Research Laboratories The NOAA Research Laboratories conduct an integrated program of research, technology development, and services to improve the understanding of Earth's atmosphere, oceans and inland waters, and to describe and predict changes occurring to them. The laboratories and their field stations are located across the country and around the world. NOAA Technology Partnerships Office The Technology Partnerships Office, or TPO, serves the needs of both NOAA inventors and U.S. companies looking to partner with NOAA or license our technologies. Located in Silver Spring, MD, the NOAA OTP oversees both the Small Business Innovation Research Program and the Technology Transfer Program for NOAA.	Cooperative Institute Highlights Wednesday, May 22, 2013 Record Setting Funding by CIMMS The Cooperative Institute for Mesoscale Meteorological Studies (CIMMS) expenditures in CY 12 were a record $14.17M. This is a record for both CIMMS and any OU unit, and culminated a more than 11-fold increase over the last 20 years. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 2013 Great Lakes Summer Student Fellowship Program The Cooperative Institute for Limnology and Ecosystems Research (CILER), located at the University of Michigan, announces the 2013 Great Lakes Summer Student Fellowship Program. This year’s program is hosted by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Great Lakes Environmental Research Lab (GLERL). The CILER summer fellowship program exposes students to a broad range of fields and provides an exciting opportunity for students to conduct research in the Great Lakes region under the mentorship of a researcher or working professional. Monday, May 20, 2013 The PING Project The National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) is looking for young, old, and in-between volunteers to make observations for the research project Precipitation Identification Near the Ground project (PING) using the mobile apps.
