Under the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate Long Range Broad Agency Announcement (LRBAA) and other Broad Agency Announcements (BAAs), white papers and/or proposals on a range of topics important to the mission of securing the homeland, are being sought. Through this Portal, interested submitters can locate these topics via integrated searches on the topics themselves, or their associated solicitations and technical topic areas.

S&T's Broad Agency Announcement Solicitations Portal

This web site contains information for the DHS S&T Long Range Broad Agency Announcement (LRBAA) and any other Broad Agency Announcements (BAAs) that were released to the public on or after January 24, 2011. This information is organized into and presented as engagements referred to as Funding Opportunities. The portal allows you to search for these opportunities via the solicitation, the topics, or technical topic areas associated with specific DHS S&T divisions. Once an opportunity is found, you may submit a pre-submission inquiry or submit a white paper or proposal, keeping in mind submission due dates. As with many funding opportunity submissions, the submitted white papers and proposals undergo a review process to determine if they are good fits for the agency, with a final decision being communicated to the submitter, indicating such....

Current information on specific topics and details can be found on the S&T; Current Solicitations page. Historical information about Past Solicitations and Workshops is also available for review. When entering data on the web site, enter only the requested information. Supplemental information will not be considered. The mission of the Borders and Maritime Security Division is to develop and transit ion technical capabilities that enhance U.S. border security without impeding commerce & travelers' flow. The Division serves as the Nation's primary shepherd of Cargo, Borders and Maritime Security science and technology with areas of responsibility that encompass all air, land and maritime borders (including U.S. ports-of-entry and inland waterways). BMD understands the technical dimension of homeland security challenges and provides customers with new and/or better options to accomplish their mission.

The S&T Chemical/Biological Division seeks out the science needed to reduce the probability and potential consequences of a biological pathogen or a chemical attack on the Nation's civilian population, its infrastructure, or its agricultural system. The division develops and implements early detection and warning systems for attack characterization. Priorities include research and development efforts on urban monitoring, detection technologies, bioassays, a bioforensics capability, and restoration and response tools and technologies.

CSD's mission is to contribute to enhancing the security and resilience of the nation's critical information infrastructure and the Internet by (1) developing and delivering new technologies, tools and techniques to enable DHS and the U.S. to defend, mitigate and secure current and future systems, networks and infrastructure against cyberattacks; (2) conduct and support technology transition and (3) lead and coordinate research and development (R&D;) among the R&D; community which includes department customers, government agencies, the private sector and international partners.

The S&T Directorate's Explosives Division promotes the development of effective techniques to protect our citizens and our country's infrastructure against the devastating effects of explosives by seeking innovative approaches in detect ion and in countermeasures. It provides the concepts, science, technologies, and systems that increase protection from explosives and promotes the development of field equipment, technologies, and procedures to interdict suicide bombers, car and truck bombs, and shoulder-fired missiles before they can reach their targets.
