Put Our Products to Work For You!
IT Workforce Development (ITWD) was created to provide IT training to the VA Office of Information and Technology (OI&T) workforce. Now, as a shared service provider, materials created by ITWD are available for use by other government agencies.
As one of the Department of Homeland Security's Information Systems Security Line of Business (ISSLoB) Security Training Shared Service Centers (SSCs), we provide common suites of information systems security training products and training services for the Federal Government. The ISSLoB SSCs provide a repository of government sponsored/approved training products and sources that will reach all levels of government executives. The current ISSLoB offering is organized into two training tiers:
Tier I: General Security Awareness Training Services and Content
Security awareness training consists of basic information security training for all personnel in government. Awareness materials help government agencies communicate the specific training mandates and satisfy those requirements. These training resources include posters, videos, and FISMA-compliant training.
Tier II: Role-Based Training Courses
Role-based training helps agencies fulfill information security training requirements and ensures a skilled workforce able to perform security tasks. These courses meet the role-based training requirements mandated by the Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014 (FISMA) and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) CFR 930.301 (2004) and follows the guidance published by the Committee of National Security Systems (CNSS) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
