Your mission, if you choose to accept, is to get clues and analyze data to solve the outbreak and save lives! In this fun app, you get to be the Disease Detective.
Do you quarantine the village? Interview people who are sick? Run more lab tests? The better your answers, the higher your score - and the quicker you’ll climb the ranks to become a decorated Disease Detective. In level 1, you’ll start out as a Trainee and can earn badges by solving scenarios, with the goal of earning the top rank: Disease Detective.
Unlock Level 2 by mastering all 12 outbreaks. Then earn honors by solving new and more challenging scenarios. Earn recognitions like Surveillance Honors and Treatment Honors.
New outbreaks happen every day, and CDC's Disease Detectives are on the front lines, working 24/7 to save lives and protect people. When a new outbreak happens, Disease Detectives are sent in to figure out how the outbreak started before it spreads further.

・ Learn about diseases and outbreaks in an engaging way.
・ See how CDC's Disease Detectives save lives around the world.
・ Post your scores on Facebook or Twitter and challenge your friends to play!

I use CDC Solve Outbreak in my teaching and it's a great way to engage the students while they learn about outbreak investigation.
Fun Learning Great way to teach people about the spread of diseases.
Great! It is very educational. I use it in my G.A.T.E class at elementary school. We are starting a new unit about epidemiology! 10 out of 10!
Fascinating and informative I heard about the app from the CDC Twitter account and decided to try it out - not dissimilar to some of the problems in my university infectious diseases course! Really well done and a good balance of education and entertainment.
Wonderful It's educative and ties knowledge together for medics using real life scenarios and application of known facts
Great App! This is a great app. It is fun and very educational. If you have any interest in medicine, epidemiology or any of the biological sciences I think you'll love this app too.
Solve the outbreak Helps you to use your medical terms and become a affective researcher and solve the medical cases.
Solve the Outbreak It is a really fun game especially because I want to work for the CDC when I graduate high school and college
Educational and fun I enjoy learning about the various viruses and the steps taken to stop the spread.
If you ever want to play Quincy or M.D. wanabe, like me.....THIS APP IS FUN AND EDUUCATIONAL.
Tons of fun! Plenty of information about illnesses and fun deduction too!
Makes you think Takes you through the choices that the cdc makes everyday, and how research helps. This is cool, I like it
Fun..! I enjoy all things related to epidemiology. So of course I like this!
Smart tool Enjoyable if you like reading and understanding graphs....
Wish I could play but this app is not functioning well at all. Cannot answer questions in game because the boxes do not respond when I touch them. My tablet is fully functioning.
Awesome Very informative I am learning so much. Great app
Solve The Outbreak Loved it. Outbreaks are very realistic, investigative methods are right on, and the educational information was excellent. Lots of fun. I was a hospital epidemiologist for 35 years and investigated numerous outbreaks, and the information in this app was terrific! Well done.
Fun App The app was interesting and well designed and fun to play.
I love it Teaching the world about cure and how hard it is to do it five stars
Love it. Gives a large amount of information while playing the game.
Great app As someone interested in epidemiology I fell in love with this app. It's very informative and interesting.
Good game, flawed user interface I tested this game on a Google Nexus 7. While I found it well designed, well written, entertaining, and educational, the buttons in the game were not very touch responsive. I often had to touch a button multiple times and/or wait a long time before the game responded to my touch. It was quite frustrating.
Loved it! Great if you're into games like pandemic or plague inc. I actually learned a lot from this game. Kind of like mystery solving, but it's broken down into a not too hard core style.
Fun Game! I love the board game Pandemic and this was fun too. Not enough points available in the game to score disease detective status :/
The reality behind epidemiology This app is unlikely to be everybody's cup of tea. There are no explosions, no compelling music, and you don't get to take over the world. There's a lot of subtle analysis. It demands patience. And it gives a taste, I suspect, of what the CDC's scientists actually have to do in their day to day jobs.... Both the "a-ha!" moments and the frustrating sifting through details. But it's challenging in a very different way than more mainstream hands, educational, and, at times, grimly realistic.
Enjoyable, easier if you read about infectious disease Fun game but I guessed several outbreak causes because I read a lot about ID (and most are based on real outbreaks, with some changed details). I really like that some questions have more than one right answer, so you must pick the best answer. You can redo each outbreak to see where you chose wrong and get it right/improve your score. Took me one evening to do Level 1 during three 1-hr dramas I barely watched, I was more absorbed by this game. Starting Level 2 now.
Interesting so far. Definitely see a little first-world arrogance in how one of the early cases is handled, but other than that it's been very realistic and educational.
Okay I wasn't able to play the game because the boxes were unresponsive.
OMG Best Education Game Ever It was so awesome I nearly compleated it.
