NASA's Earth Now is an application that visualizes recent global climate data from Earth Science satellites, including surface air temperature, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, ozone, and water vapor as well as gravity and sea level variations. Data sets are visually described using "false color" maps. Color-coded legends are provided to indicate relative strength or weakness of an environmental condition. The resulting 3D model of the Earth may be rotated by a single finger stroke, and may also be zoomed in or out by pinching 2 fingers. It was developed by the Earth Science Communications and Visualization Technology Applications and Development Teams at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, with support from NASA Headquarters.

Touch navigation tricky Dragging to scroll up or down on pages or to rotate the globe are very slow and not so responsive. Ive noticed this on several devices. I do like this app for lots of other reasons.

TabS2 Apps screen info., is slightly beyound the tabs display. The App doesnt have an Exit button; while trying to end the app. Back button doesnt work (I have to open "Recent Apps" button just to exit).

Best space app Scrolling in the globe gets laggy but i like how we can even see the satellites in 3d but it would be more amazing if u could add other satellites like the ISS.

App buggy App keeps shutting down in the middle of loading vitals with wi-fi tried 3 times and have had no luck getting app to work 😬😬

Awesome job guys Feels nice to see rather than opening laptop every time. And plotting.. We can get a glimpse of earth and different parameters. Add AOD and some more variables with some kind off snapshot to zoom in and click for certain region would be very amazing and handy..
Shocking to say the least.. I do agree with the other review which commented on base-line info. It takes another source of info before it really becomes clear how screwed we are. Also it could use some updates with look and feel, as well as more compiled data-sets, which we all know NASA has plenty of.. Looking forward 2 more updates ;)
No base or acceptable levels shown. A bunch of 15-year-old app savvy kids can make this app, the way it is now! It doesn't need a massive and ingenious scientific organization like NASA to create an app which only shows raw data in cute little colours, like children's coloured pencil drawings! When a thinking person looks at this, they wonder, "what are the base levels for comparison"?!!! How much CO2, and CO is considered a safe concentration for humans? We cannot begin to understand and evaluate this without base/safe ranges!
Great app fast informative yet incomplete All datasets appear to be lacking imagery data for both poles also some patches in vital signs data. Any reason why we are unable to see complete images of Antarctica or the Artic circle
Great but this is Android not IOS Very interesting app but this is Android not IOS. When we hit the back button in Android it should exit the app. If you are going to release an Android app you need to use programmers that at least know the basics of Android. And I really do mean basics. This has obviously been ported from IOS by someone incompetent.
Great app with a few minor issues Good app, pretty cool actually. No way to exit though without hitting the home screen. Also with temperatures would be nice if you could switch to celcius.
Great data The UI takes some getting used to, as the app appears to be optimized for tablet use, but it provides useful and up-to-date information on the point-by-point status of our planet. Well done as always, JPL!
Interesting. ...but Slow, in my opinion it should be very accurate so if there was national emergency we would be able to better protect ourselves. From harm in advance.
EARTH NOW Doesn't work on my Nexus 7. Large title across top of globe that has vertical splits in it. Not sure what it was all about. Obviously designed for some other device.
Interesting but has issues Scrolling and zooming is unusually slow. There also doesn't seem to be a setting to use the metric system (I'm not used to temperatures in Fahrenheit).
This is a really cool and really informative app. I'd love to see some sort of homescreen widget version of this, even if it's just something like a 1x1-icon with a feed of user-selected information. There's a lot of cool potential in this!
Liked it mostly Needs to support landscape view. Can't see anything when clicking on vital signs... other than that, I love it. Allot of potential. Update with landscape and I'll give five stars,
Earth Now App for android Really like the App but there was now way to quit, end or stop the app other than shutting my phone off. Please fix this or put a menu on the app to quit.
This is really nice...only one can't Close this sadly. So all I can do is uninstall this beautiful app....Sad,sad.
Interesting but needs work The concept is excellent but the app doesn't respond to standard Android controls, nor is there any way to stop the app short of using an external task killer.
PERFECT ! :-) Big picture of the Earth with live updated details from all available satellites ! FREE APP ! & you get billions $$ of space tech at no extra cost ! Turn your phone into a Super Planetary Explorer !
This is great Anything that makes science more accessible is a good thing. My first 5 star rating, ever!
One of the most useful apps Pull info off of any of several satellites to see the world like you've never seen it before.
Don't believe nasa I wish I could still respect nasa or any government funded scientific source. Unfortunately, those days are over. Indoctrination is not science.
OUT OF THIS WORLD! WHAT A WONDERFUL BUT FRAGILE WORLD WE HAVE, A VERY INFORMATIVE APP,THANKS J.P.L. &NASA.
Real science app It gives accurate simulation and current fact about vital sign It has some touch interface issue but worth it Very good app
Great but Great app. Very cool except there is no way to exit the app. Minor issue but doesn't really count towards how neat it is. Worth checking out.
No options It is not Working with android 5.1. Able to open the app but no options to check the other information. Earlier i was able to check the co2 temp etc.
Of great importance, great visualization tool See the state of our shared home for yourself. Learn through interactive visuals from observed scientific data.
Fahrenheit? Really? Only 5 countries use Fahrenheit. Remember Lockheed Martin and the Mars Climate Orbiter? Let's all just use Celsius, like civilised people.
Seen better Apps n Have Better But Not Free You ONLY get what you pay for n free is this app n the one 1 I pay for is wayyyyyy better.
Not working All I can do is open the app that shows me nothing
Doesn't show south pole in some maps. It doesn't show south pole area in visible earth and carbon di oxide map. It is just blacked out there.
Earth Now Surface global temperatures and atmospheric gaseous & particulate analysis. Info is outdated.(2014)
Very beautiful App Very beautiful purpose, but it would've been really cool if you collaborated with Google Earth.
perfect this is exactly the kind of app NASA needs to be making in abundance. beautiful, interesting, and accessible. keep it coming.
Need more This could be so much more, if it had baselines or something thing like annual norms
Scary We are so close to the edge of killing this planet forever.
