Tourism is a significant contributor to the growth and vitality of North Carolina’s economy, and the EDPNC’s Visit North Carolina team unifies and leads the efforts to promote North Carolina as a preferred destination for travelers and film production. In 2014, tourism generated $21.3 billion in domestic visitor spending, supported 204,909 jobs for residents and contributed more than $1.7 billion in state and local tax revenues. Visit North Carolina’s collaboration with partners added approximately $6 million in exposure for statewide tourism marketing efforts.
