Enterprise Profile Home

Visualize your emissions, analyze trends, and drill-down to quickly measure progress against GHG reduction goals. The Enterprise Profile Home page provides an at-a-glance visualization of key metrics. Your agency can view aggregate Scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions, analyze trends over multiple years, and review the emissions of each sub-component (such as Bureaus) to identify those that contribute most to the overall carbon footprint of the enterprise.

Data Pre-population

Save time by importing up to 90% of your agency's GHG emissions data from existing federal data systems. Import up to 90% of a typical agency's Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions data from existing federal databases. GSA can import data from the following data systems, usually in just a few business days:

  • GSA Real Estate Across the United States (REXUS): Import building attribute information including physical address, occupied square feet, and leasing information.
  • GSA Federal Automotive Statistical Tool (FAST): Import Scope 1 fleet fuel consumption and cost data directly from FAST annual report records.
  • ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager: Import Scope 1 and 2 building energy data seamlessly for all agency facilities that exist in Portfolio Manager.
  • GSA Energy Usage Analysis System (EUAS): Import Scope 1 and 2 building energy data for all facilities in which GSA is responsible for paying the utility bills.
  • GSA Travel Management Information System (Travel MIS/TravelTrax): Import Scope 3 employee air and ground business travel information directly from agency booking records.

Carbon Profile Map

View your facilities and emissions on a GIS map, incorporating overlays from other open data sources. Display your organization's locations on a single Google-enabled map. View relative emissions site-by-site, visualize net emissions across sites, and review site attribute information-such as LEED Certification status-to identify common characteristics of highly efficient facilities. Data layers can be toggled on or off to review eGRID subregions or other data from open data sources.

Reports

Automated download of the DOE FEMP Reporting Portal workbooks eliminates duplication of effort. Reports provide transparency in the GHG inventory process. Each report provides "plain English" descriptions of each equation, shows the user inputs for each category, and displays the calculations that were performed to convert energy consumption data into greenhouse gas emissions. Pre-loaded reports are available for the enterprise, site group, site, and each scenario. For even more control over your data, use ad-hoc reporting to build customized reports.

Scope 3 Commuter Survey

GSA offers the Scope 3 Commuter Survey as a turn-key solution to help any federal agency capture its Scope 3 Employee Commute information and easily report its emissions to DOE FEMP. GSA has deployed this survey for agencies ranging from the very small (less than 50 employees) to the very large (greater than 500,000 employees). In FY2010, more than 18,000 federal employees completed the commuter survey with 98% of them indicating they were "Very Satisfied" or "Satisfied" with their survey experience. Quality Assurance Review

Build, view, or QA review your GHG inventory through the GSA Carbon Footprint Tool. Enter site-level data via an intuitive interface that walks your staff through the process step-by-step. With embedded guidance throughout the process, minimal training is required.

Then, use the embedded QA review process to conduct second-party verification of your agency GHG emissions. Users submit data for QA review by an agency administrator. During the review process, administrators can flag unusual data, add comments, and return the data for necessary revisions. The Carbon Footprint Tool manages the process and version control so you can spend more time verifying your data and making corrections.
