Community Support

NOTICE:  As a result of Sequestration, all support to public events must meet all guidelines for support as outlined by the Department of Defense for the remainder of the fiscal year 2014.  Support to public and military events is provided at no additional cost to the taxpayer using allotted training hours which are now entirely dedicated to support readiness needs of the units.

This policy may change after the end of the fiscal year.

All events must be open to the entire community. The event must not promote the partisan, fraternal or commercial objectives of the organization itself.  Department of Defense regulations and policies require that participation in community events will be provided on a non-interference basis to the military mission at no additional cost to the U.S. Government.

Military bands are not authorized to provide entertainment, such as background music for dinners or dances, at public or private events in competition with the employment of local civilian musicians. Please note that only one band may perform at an event. The Department of Defense reserves the right to cancel performances without notice.

Speakers are prohibited from participating in fundraising, marketing or commercial events, from taking part in partisan political activity and from accepting fees or honoraria.

The Tennessee National Guard Community Relations Division welcomes the opportunity to connect our communities with the mission and capabilities of the Tennessee Army and Air National Guard.   We are pleased to offer the resources for the American public to request flyovers, military bands, color/honor guards, exhibit displays and speakers.  We require at least 30 days notice in order to process all requests
