Trial Defense Service

Welcome to the home of the Tennessee Army National Guard 1109th Field Trial Defense Team and 1196th Senior Trial Defense Team.  Our Defense Counsel provides services to Tennessee Army National Guard members and their eligible dependants, and to Tennessee Air National Guard members and their dependants after proper referral. The TDS is part of the greater Judge Advocate Generals Corps Regiment.

On this page you will find informational memos and guidance that should be reviewed prior to contacting our office. Those seeking legal representation from our teams should fill out the TDS Request for Counsel form located on this website to inititate the request, and there is no legal representation until the request is acknowledged in writing by a Judge Advocate of our Trial Defense Teams.

Services are limited by the restrictions under AR 27-3 and assigned Trial Defense Teams’ determination to provide services based on personnel and financial resources available.  Services are limited to Drill weekends, therefor advice is limited to those periods, so have your information and documents prepared prior to our teams opportunity to see you. Our Trial Defense Teams cannot represent anyone in civilian court and cannot provide civilian criminal defense services. We suggest you find civilian legal representation that best suits your needs.

We are here to assist you in your time of need. Please contact us if you need our assistance.
