TRICARE Health Insurance

 

The TRICARE Reserve Select Health Insurance is an insurance that all active drilling guard members may purchase for themselves and their families if needed.  Military Technicians are not eligible to enroll in this benefit because they are eligible for insurance under the FEHB Health Insurance Program.  The monthly cost of this health insurance is currently $51.62 for an individual Soldier and $195.81 for the Soldier and their family.  In comparison monthly cost for TRICARE Health Insurance for Retired Soldiers prior to reaching age 60 is approximately $1,100.00 for a family and almost $400.00 for the individual Soldier.  Soldiers and their families may also enroll in the dental insurance program.

 

 

 

 

Additional Information about TRICARE

 

 a.   You must pay 2 months premiums when you enroll into the program

 

b.   You must enroll by the 20th of the preceding month to be covered on the 1st day of the next month, example enroll 19 February and your coverage begins 1 March

 

c.   There are deductibles and co-pays

 

d.   Great pharmacy program for required medications $5.00 for a thirty day supply and $15.00 for a 90 day supply. Pharmacy medications are free if filled at a military treatment facility

f.   You must fill out the form and mail it in to TRICARE Insurance to complete enrollment

 

 

 

 

Tennessee is located in the South Region except for the Fort Campbell area, which is in the North Region.
