Public Notice: A message to the parents of school-aged children on Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River
The deadline to get your child vaccinated or have an opt-out waiver turned into the school is Thursday, Dec. 15. As of today, only 50% of the Camp Lejeune-New River school population is complete and nearly 1,500 students remain. With Thanksgiving break and only two weeks to go, the time to get this done is NOW!
PLEASE NOTE: If a student has not received the required vaccine by Dec. 15, or does not have a waiver on file at the school, a letter of disenrollment will be sent to the parents. Students will not return to school until the vaccine requirement is met or a waiver is on file.
These schools will be administering the vaccine on the following dates:
- Johnson Primary School - Nov. 18
- Heroes Elementary School - Nov. 21
- Lejeune High School - Nov. 22
The main hospital's immunization clinic and the pediatric clinic are open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays on a walk-in basis to provide flu vaccines with the following exceptions: The immunization clinic does not perform immunizations Thursdays 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. due to training and the pediatric clinic does not offer immunizations Tuesdays 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. due to training.
