Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma files suit to protect tribal lands and water from illegal Oil and Gas drilling

The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District for the Northern District of Oklahoma, alleges that the BIA AND BLM violated the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the federal government's duties as trustee to the Pawnee Nation and its members, as well as other statutes.

Pawnee Language Class Schedule 2016

New Pawnee Language Program starts - September 13, 2016.
6:30 - 7:30pm 
Followed by a one hour Cultural Class after each Language Class.
7:30-8:30 pm

The month of September will be “Pawnee 101” cultural classes.

- Two (2) positions on the Pawnee Nation Election Commission. Terms are staggered for (3) years and four (4) years. Open until filled.

 


 Three (3) positions on the Pawnee Nation Liquor Control Board, seats are 3 year terms. Open until filled.

The Pawnee Nation Cultural Resources Division is glad to say that we have been awarded the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act Consultation/Documentation Grant. As a result, the Pawnee Nation is able to hire a new employee within the CRD Historic Preservation Office.

The Tribal Historic Preservation Officer would like to thank the CRD Staff, Pawnee Nation Staff, Cultural Committee, Chief's Council, Pawnee Business Council and especially, Leader LLC President, Carol Nuttle and Treasurer, Angela Thompson for their efforts in seeing this grant awarded.
