The training site is located at Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville, PA on Muir Army Airfield and has been in operation since 1981. The Eastern AATS is fully accredited by The Army School System (TASS) as a “Learning Institution of Excellence” charged to conduct National Guard Bureau directed training. This training includes individual aircrew qualification, non-commissioned officer professional education, and enlisted military occupational and additional skill identifier training in our primary area of focus on utility and cargo rotary-wing aircraft. The Eastern AATS strives to provide America’s Army and international aircrew members the best possible instruction and support in formal courses of instruction as well as in flight simulation training on the UH-60, CH-47, and UH-72 aircraft. A modern co-located dormitory and medical clinic enhance soldier quality of life and allow the staff of 118 military personnel and civilian contractors to fully support the development of the warrior spirit in the Soldiers that train here.
The Eastern AATS is located on Fort Indiantown Gap, a 19,200 acre military reservation centrally located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania approximately 20 miles northeast of the state capital of Harrisburg. We are easily accessible from Harrisburg International Airport or Interstate 81. Situated adjacent to MUIR Army Airfield, the Eastern AATS offers access to more than 1,000 square miles of tactical terrain flight training area. Serve as an ARNG aviation training site focusing on Utility and Cargo aircraft. Supervise, develop and conduct programs of instruction (POI) as directed by NGB/ARNG. Conduct individual aviator qualification training, enlisted aviation training and NCOPDS. Manage and operate flight simulation support for regional users and in support of formal course of instruction. Provide Aeromedical services in support of the AATS mission. Upon mobilization, augment TRADOC under the command and control of the US Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE).

The Eastern AATS is organized with two subordinate training battalions and support staff: An Aviation Training Battalion-Utility (ATB-U) and an Aviation Training Battalion-Cargo (ATB-C). Course information is found under ATRRS school code 960.
The training curriculum at the Eastern AATS consists of more than 28 formal courses providing technical and functional training to over 1500 Soldiers annually from all 54 states and territories, the active Army, Army Reserves and various international military students.
The Flight Training Company, ATB-U, conducts aircraft qualification courses, instructor pilot and maintenance test pilot courses in the UH-60A/L.
The Enlisted Training Company, ATB-U, conducts MOS qualification / transition courses for 15T, as well as hosting the Aircraft Crew member Standardization Instructor Course (UH-60).
The Flight Training Company, ATB-C, conducts aircraft qualification courses and instructor pilot training in the CH47D/F and conducts MOS qualification / transition for 15U, as well as hosting the EAATS CH-47 Flight Engineer Course (EFEC).
The two battalions operate the largest flight simulation complex in the reserve component providing virtual simulation and procedure training in the CH-47, UH-60, and UH-72 devices.
The Medical Support Company, ATB-C, is staffed with a flight surgeon, physician's assistant, medics, and support personnel conducting more than 1,000 medical exams and over 3,000 patient contacts annually.
The Department of Evaluation and Standards (DES), USAACE, is a tenant activity of the Eastern AATS with a mission to assist the command in providing safe, high quality flight instruction to formal course students.
The training site offers a 35 acre campus consisting of full motion flight simulators, UH-60 and CH-47 Hardware Maintenance Trainers, UH-60 and CH-47 Remove and Replace Trainers, a state-of-the-art multimedia classroom for Distance Learning classes and computerized classrooms to facilitate and support interactive multi-media instruction and automation initiatives, and an Aviation Life Support Equipment repair facility.

All ATRRS course students will be provided lodging either with EAATS or in coordination with post billeting, at no cost. All simulator users will be provided no-cost lodging on a space available basis, all others will be directed to post billeting. Statements of Non-Availability (SNA) will only be issued through post billeting based on their availability.
ATRRS students will be automatically reserved for a room, no need to contact the dormitory prior. Simulation and medical appointment personnel should call the dorm for a reservation. Reservations are subject to change based on course changes throughout the year.

The Medical Support Company provides Aeromedical Advice to the Commander. The bulk of our clinical duties involve the administration of flight duty medical examinations (FDME’s) for pilot applicants, rated pilots, and air crew. Additionally, we provide sick call coverage to the cadre and aircrew attending courses of instruction. The clinic is staffed by a full time Flight Surgeon, an Aviation Physician Assistant and the necessary enlisted medical personnel. Scheduling for FDME’s may be accomplished as far as 12 months in advance.
Q: When can I schedule a flight physical?
A: Up to 12 months in advance by calling (717) 861-9175 or by EAATS Med. Co. Email.
Q: When should I schedule my flight physical?
A: As early as possible in your 90-day window.
Q: If I've had medical treatment since my last flight physical, should I notify my flight surgeon prior to reporting for my next flight physical?
A: Yes, required by AR600-105 and AR 40-8.
Q: Can I get a copy of the physical and lab results for personal use?
A: Yes, but usually not the same day.
Q: Is there lodging on post?
A: Yes; though the EAATS allows individuals scheduled for physicals to utilize our dormitory for the evening before there scheduled appointment at no cost to the Soldier.
Q: How long does it take to complete a physical?
A: Barring extensive medical history we have a patient out of the clinic with upslip in 3 hours.
Q: How long does it take to process a physical through USAAMA, Ft. Rucker?
A: Usually it takes 2 to 6 weeks.
Q: Do I have to go to several clinics to complete my physical?
A: For almost all physicals we are a one-stop-shop.
Q: What do I need to bring for my physical?
A: Forward your Health records to the clinic and bring a copy of all waivers. If you have had recent treatment or evaluation by your civilian health care provider (HCP), bring copies of all reports, including Doctor's notes, labs, x-rays, etc.
