No-Till & Cover Crops Show Promise for Wyoming Farm

Farming in a semi-desert, Richard and Garrett Klein hope more living roots and less tillage will reduce irrigation needs and improve compacted, light soils. Story used with permission from No-Till Farmer.

This multi-species cover crop was seeded in 2014 on the Klein farm and yielded ample growth by August. The mix contained forage corn, sunflowers, sorghum, buckwheat, radishes, turnips, kale and some additional plant species.

Sage Grouse Initiative 2.0
