Military Service Members, Veterans, and Spouses
The Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists honors and supports our military personnel and veterans returning to civilian life and wishes to thank them for the sacrifices that they and their families have made on behalf of our nation. The skills that men and women acquire in the Armed Forces are valuable. These skills may benefit an individual that decides to pursue a career in psychology.
In accordance with Section 55.009, Occupations Code, the Board provides notice that it has adopted rules that:
- Assist active duty, former and retired military personnel to receive the credit they earned for military training and education;
- Extend renewal dates for military personnel, veterans, and spouses;
- Recognize prior licensure in this state;
- Recognize substantially equivalent licensure from other jurisdictions; and
- Waive application and examination fees for military personnel, veterans, and spouses.
Sunset Review of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
The Sunset Review of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists has begun, and the Sunset Commission has requested that every Texan take this opportunity to suggest ways in which the mission and operations of the Board can be strengthened. The Board would also take this opportunity to encourage stakeholders and the public alike to review its Self Evaluation Report and offer any comments or suggestions to the Sunset Commission regarding improvements needed to the agency's mission or operations.
A brief description of the Sunset Review process can be obtained by downloading the TSBEP Sunset Review Announcement, or by visiting the Sunset Commission's webpage. This information will also provide you with directions on how to submit comments or suggestions to the Sunset Commission.
All comments or suggestions should be made on or before July 15, 2016, if possible.
