The Center for Information Dissemination and Education Resources (CIDER) was established as a VA HSR&D; national Resource Center in 2004. Located in Boston, CIDER provides a critical conduit for the dissemination of health services research and provides HSR&D; with dissemination support through a variety of channels.
As with all VA centers, CIDER's mission is to improve the health and healthcare of our veterans. By distributing important HSR&D; findings to policy makers, clinicians, researchers, managers, and the general public, CIDER plays a pivotal role in supporting implementation of evidence-based research throughout VA. Our educational offerings (cyber seminars, annual meetings) provide the VA HSR&D; community with regular opportunities to enhance health services research and to improve the health and outcomes of veterans.
CIDER's goal is to support dissemination and encourage the use of research-based evidence in making policy and clinical practice decisions aimed at improving quality, patient care, and health outcomes.
