Mesa Grande: Pride. Honor. History.

The Mesa Grande Band of Mission Indians are proud to introduce you to our tribe—our history, lands and culture, our community of today, and our vision for the future. Sharing is a time-honored tradition for our people, so we are following the ways of our ancestors by sharing our story with our neighbors and the greater community to which we all belong.

This website will help teach our children the culture and traditions of their people. It will help preserve the memories and stories of our elders, ensuring that they remain part of our living history for many generations to come. And it will help you get to know us better, strengthening the bonds between Mesa Grande and its friends and neighbors.

Tribal Government

The Mesa Grande Band is governed by a General Council made up of all enrolled tribal members. The tribe operates as a pure democracy, making all major decisions regarding the tribe’s overall direction. The daily affairs of the Band are administered by an elected Business Committee comprised of five members serving five-year terms.
