Notice Regarding House Bill 3208 Notice: Pursuant to the provisions of House Bill 3208, most vehicle registration fees will increase by $5, during the period August 26, 2016 through June 30, 2017. The increased fee applies to all registration transactions completed within that time-frame, regardless of the registration expiration date. The appropriate registration fee will be displayed, as you proceed with your CARS registration renewal transaction.

Plate Redesign and Reissue: This legislation also provides for a complete vehicle license plate redesign and reissue in calendar year 2017. Beginning January 01, 2017 most Oklahoma vehicles will be issued a new-design plate at time of the vehicle’s next registration.

Renew Online

  • You may renew your registration online, beginning the month preceding the registration expiration month, for the following:
    • Standard (no special rate), noncommercial vehicle (automobile; noncommercial / non-farm truck; motorcycle; travel trailer; motor home)
    • Commercial truck, at a laden weight not exceeding, 15,000 lbs)
    • Farm truck weighing (truck + load carried or pulled) 55,000 lbs or less.
  • Have the following items available.
    • Driver's license number or FEI number
    • Insurance information, unless declaring non-use vehicle.
    • Credit/debit card or a checking account.

Visit a Tag Agency

  • Please note: Only current record owners of vehicles registered in Oklahoma are eligible for online renewal. If you are not the record owner (i.e. an Oklahoma title has not been issued in your name), you must visit a tag agency to process a title change before registering the vehicle.
