Ohio National Guard Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Program

The mission of the Sexual Assault Prevention & Response office is to provide the tools and resources to prevent the occurrence of sexual assaults within the Ohio National Guard through increasing awareness and educating all service members about sexual assault frequencies in the military and the prevention of sexually based incidents while also protecting the rights and dignity of victims. The Ohio National Guard is dedicated to this mission and ensuring compliance for all of our Army and Air Force service members. Sexual Assault is a crime, demeans the values of others, and erodes the basic foundation of trust so vital to the success of every military mission.

DoD defines Sexual Assault as: Intentional sexual contact characterized by use of force, physical threat, abuse of authority or coercion; or when the victim does not or cannot consent. Failure to say, “No,” does not constitute consent. Includes rape, non-consensual sexual acts, and intimate partner sexual violence. It occurs without regard to gender, spousal relationship, or age of victim. It is a crime. It’s punishable under the Codes of Military Justice and Federal/State laws; it violates the military core values.
