Overview

The Information Science and Technology Research Group conceives, proposes, and implements applied information science and technology research, exploring new challenges in computing and information science and technology research. The Group cultivates the technological innovation needed to meet the Sciences and Exploration Directorate's (SED) research objectives, science investigations and missions, as well as facilitate new uses of Directorate science and data products.

The Group also participates in educational initiatives like the Minority University-Space Interdisciplinary Network (MU-SPIN) Program. MU-SPIN encourages minority university partnerships to foster scientific curriculum development and research. The ultimate goal of these efforts is to increase participation in NASA-related science and train the next generation of NASA's minority scientists and engineers through the use of information technology.
