The Office of Occupational Safety and Health (OOSH) has responsibility for the Department’s Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and Workers’ Compensation programs.

DOC’s Office of Occupational Safety and Health (OOSH) provides leadership, policy development and implementation guidance, technical advice, and overall administration and management of the Department's internal safety, occupational health, and workers' compensation programs. OOSH strives to ensure safe and healthful DOC workplaces through the timely identification of occupational safety and health hazards and partners with DOC agencies to implement recommended abatement actions and preventative measures. OOSH provides outreach and education to DOC employees, management, and union representatives. OOSH also administers the use of the EMPLOYEES’ COMPENSATION OPERATIONS and MANAGEMENT PORTAL (ECOMP) operated by the Department of Labor (DOL) Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs (OWCP). ECOMP is a web-based application that enables DOC employees to file OSHA 301 Injury and Incident Reports and file workers' compensation claims using ECOMP.

To report a hazard in your work area, please contact your bureau Safety Manager, bureau Safety Coordinator, or use a form or hazard reporting method provided/recommended by your bureau (if available).
