In an effort to provide more digital maps, publications, and miscellaneous documents, NWRC (USGS National Wetlands Research Center) created the Tampa Bay Digital Library.
The Digital Library includes data related to the Gulf of Mexico Integrated Science Program, both historical, and data created by the project. Information acquired in this study was intended to be accessible by managers, city planners, as well as State and Federal legislators.
The Digital Library serves as an archival clearinghouse for scientific data; maps, metadata, documents and GIS data which characterize the ecology of the Tampa Bay Estuary.
The entire Gulf of Mexico Tampa Bay Study website, data, library, and internet mapping system (IMS) is a legacy site and is no longer funded by the U.S. Geological Survey. Much of the data and resources were transferred to the Tampa Bay Estuary Atlas. Users are referred to the Tampa Bay Estuary Program website for data and resources on the Tampa Bay estuary:
