CoastWatch provides near real-time SST products with data from NOAA's Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES) and Polar Orbiting Environmental Satellites (POES). In addition, GOES-POES blended products are operational. CoastWatch SST products are produced at high spatial resolution for the coastal waters of the United States. Each product has unique characteristics dependent on the sensor and the algorithm applied.

NOAA CoastWatch Central Operations provides sea surface temperature (SST) products derived from NOAA's Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites (GOES). Sea surface temperature products from GOES for the coastal United States are available in near real-time and updated 8 times per day (every 3 hours).

NOAA CoastWatch polar sea surface temperature (SST) Images are produced from NOAA Polar Operational Environmental Satellites (POES) and European Space Agency's Meteorological Operational(MetOp-2) spacecraft. CoastWatch SST Images are produced from Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) data four times daily for the coastal waters of the United States. Sea surface temperature products may be browsed online or obtained from the Regional Nodes; retrospective data may be obtained from NOAA's CLASS archive facility.

NOAA CoastWatch distributes 5km sea surface temperature (SST) Images produced from NOAA Polar Operational Environmental Satellites (POES) and Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellites and International partners' data. CoastWatch SST images are produced daily for global coverage. Two products exist -- a day-night and nightime only. Sea surface temperature products may be browsed online by selecting 'Multi' as the sensor; retrospective data may be obtained from NOAA's CLASS archive facility.

CoastWatch provides near real-time experimental sea surface temperature products (SST) from the National Polar-orbiting Partnership (NPP) Suomi Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometry Suite (VIIRS). Products differ from the current AVHRR and Imager SST in that they use ACSPO processing. The 'cloud' variable contains the ACSPO mask and the SST dataset is named 'sst_regression.'
