Matt and I are grateful for the tremendous outpouring of support from so many Kentuckians across our Commonwealth. Thank you for the honor to serve as your First Lady. Our family has been so blessed to call Kentucky home. And, we are thankful for the opportunity to build a better, brighter future for our state.
I am so proud of my husband and know that he is ready to lead Kentucky in a better direction. Matt loves to serve his country and his fellow citizens. Matt is a self-made entrepreneur and an extremely hard worker. His success as a businessman, his faith in God, and his huge heart will guide his decisions.
My heart lies with Kentucky’s children and families. My top priority as First Lady is to help build stronger families, and this includes reducing child abuse throughout our Commonwealth. Child abuse is all too prevalent, and it affects all races, across all income levels. Kentucky’s children deserve to have the best possible start in life, and that begins with prevention of, and protection from, abuse. I look forward to partnering with child abuse prevention and treatment organizations, and fighting alongside them to protect our most vulnerable citizens.
As a mother of 9 children - 4 of whom are adopted - I’m concerned by the obstacles faced by Kentucky families trying to adopt. I plan to work to make adoption simpler and more affordable, while helping would-be parents navigate the adoption process. It is my hope for every child in Kentucky to grow up in a loving home, and I am committed to working to move us closer to that goal.
Thank you for the trust you have placed in us. Matt and I are honored and excited to serve you as Governor and First Lady. Guided by our faith and principles, we will work to improve the lives of Kentucky's families, and pave the way for a better future throughout our state.
