Wisconsin Department of Children and Families

Protecting Children, Strengthening Families, Building Communities

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has designated the month of January as National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, to help raise awareness of this horrible crime affecting close to one million people internationally each year and spread the message about how you can spot the signs of trafficking.
Welcome to the new Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) website. We hope that you find the new site easier to use and more responsive to your needs. Created with you in mind, the new site was built to allow you to have multiple navigation options and easily use a PC, tablet, or smartphone to get the information you want. The new DCF website also features improved layout, visual appeal, enhanced search functionality, and reduced web clutter.
Members of the Future of the Family Commission recently met with Governor Walker to discuss their recommendations and to answer questions about their final report. During the meeting, the Governor thanked them for their commitment to improving the lives of all Wisconsin families and for the thoughtful approach they took during their deliberations.

The Department of Children and Families (DCF) is targeting the issue of poverty in Wisconsin’s most economically disadvantaged areas with an exciting new subsidized work program. The Transitional Jobs (TJ) program is a public/private partnership that teams local businesses looking for a low-risk way to expand their workforce with eligible unemployed or underemployed job-seekers in need of training and mentorship. The program has a specific focus of helping people with high-barriers gain the skills needed to transition into long-term, family sustaining jobs.
