Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

The primary task of the Deputy Director for Science and Technology (DDST) is to assure the integration of the Laboratory's science, technology, and engineering (ST&E) portfolio with its programmatic mission areas. To achieve this end, the DDST Office engages with all of the Laboratory's ST&E organizations to help assure that the fundamental capabilities needed to meet national missions tomorrow are being developed today.

The DDST also assists the Laboratory's Director with special initiatives, such as developing a larger engagement in the energy and environment sector.

The DDST Office is also home to the Laboratory Directed Research and Development Program, which funds innovative R&D; the Laboratory’s technology transfer office, the Industrial Partnerships Organization; and University Relations and Outreach.
