Convert Adobe Connect Recording into High Quality MP4 Format
The following instructions on how to "Convert Adobe Connect Recording into High Quality MP4 Format":
Step 1: Open your preferred internet browser (e.g., IE, Firefox or Chrome)
Step 2: Log into your Adobe Connect host account: https://webmeeting.nih.gov
Step 3: Once you successfully access your account, navigate to the “Meetings” tab associated with your host account
a. If the meeting you wish to capture is located in the “Shared Meetings” folder
b. Navigate to the “Meetings” tab > ”Shared Meetings”Step 4: Within the “Meeting List” select the meeting title you wish to access
Step 5: Next, select the “Recordings” tab .
Step 6: Then select the recording from the recordings list that you wish to capture
Step 7: Within the Recording Information the URL for the recording is embedded within the summary; press the recording link.
Step 8: Click-on the link to launch the recording, once the entire recording has launched successfully, press pause the recording momentarily.
**NOTE: At this point, in the process you will need to pause the recording and launch Captive 8.Step 9: Now, launch your Captivate v.8 software license on the same monitor.
Step 10: Now select the “Video Demo” icon under the “New” tab then click the “create” button on the lower right-hand corner.
Step 11: Now, you are ready to configure your setting for the video capture
Step 12: The configuration window will pop up with default settings as seen below:
Step 13: Please make the following changes to the configuration:
a. change “Screen Area” to “Application”
tob. In the dropdown area select the appropriate title that is set to capture, e.g., Adobe Connect Pro Basic Tutorial_0
c. After the setting changes the viewing area should look simular to this:
Step 14: Now, press the recor14. Now, press the record button then quickly press the play button on the Adobe Connec recording.
**Note, once you press record you have 3 seconds to press the play button before Captivate starts capturing the viewing area.Step 15: ** Here are a few rules to keep in mind while recording:
a. Once you begin recording all resources must be closed
b. Do not minimize the the recording because it will result in recording your desktop
c. If possible use a separate workstationStep 16: Once the Adobe Connect recording is complete press the Captivate icon (located at the bottom of your task bar) to stop the screen capture:
Step 17: Now your recording/capture will begin rendering.
**Note, depending on the file size/length of the recording will depend on how long it takes to render, so please be patient.Step 18: Once the recording is done the rendering process the playback window will automatically appear on your desktop viewing area ready for playback and/or final editing.
Step 19: Prior to moving forward in this editing process, you may want to review the recording capture for quality control process, this is the time to do so.
Step 20: Once you have ensured the recording is captured as desired, press the “Edit” button at the bottom right of the recording veiwing area:
Step 21: Pressing the Edit button will take you to back to the Captivate interface (as seen below):
Step 22: Next, at the top of the Captivate taskbar press the “Publish” button:
Step 23: After pressing the “Publish” button a pop-up message will appear to “publish to computer”, click the box and continue:
Step 24: Next, the “Publish Video Demo” box will appear with default settings, the following settings will need to change in order to convert and export the recording into an mp4 file:
a. Name: Provide the title of the recording
Note: Depending on the length of the recording publishing the file may take longer than others so please be patient.
b. Folder: This line item is optional if you have a specific folder on your disk drive you would like to save the recoring file
c. Preset: Click-on the drop-down arrow and change the preset field from “Custom” to “Video-Apple iPhone 4(4S)/Apple iPod. (This setting converts the file to mp4 format)
d. Next, click the”Publish” button
Step 25: Once the publishing process has successfully completed you have several options or click to close.
