Scientists at the Air Resources Laboratory (ARL) conduct research to gain new insights into atmospheric dispersion, atmospheric chemistry, climate change, and the complex behavior of the atmosphere near the Earth's surface, called the atmospheric boundary layer. Our Mission is to provide the highest quality atmospheric and meteorological research and services to our partners, the research community, and society required for a healthy and safe nation. We are a research laboratory within NOAA's Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research. We are headquartered in College Park, Maryland and have divisions in Oak Ridge,Tennessee (ATDD); Idaho Falls, Idaho (FRD); and Las Vegas, Nevada (SORD). Laboratory NewsARL Celebrates 20th Anniversary of READY 2017 marks the 20th Anniversary of ARL's Real-time Environmental Applications and Display sYstem (READY), a unique, web-based tool that allows users to access and display meteorological data and to run the HYSPLIT dispersion model on ARL's web server. In 2016, over 1 million HYSPLIT simulations were performed on READY. |
