2016-2017 INFLUENZA SEASON IS HERE! Get Vaccinated!

**It's flue season. Are you ready?**
Protect You and Your Family this Flu Season: Get a Flu Shot!

Flu season is on its way and now is the time to make sure you and your family is protected. Click : Read more about this year's vaccines and find out how flu can be dangerous for some children.

This season’s vaccines have been updated to better match circulating viruses. CDC recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone 6 months and older. While how well the vaccine works can vary, flu vaccine is the best way to protect against flu. Vaccination can reduce flu illnesses, doctors' visits, and missed work and school, as well as prevent hospitalizations. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for protection to set in, making now the perfect time to get vaccinated.

WHERE CAN I GET VACCINATED?

Naval Health Clinic Quantico (NHCQ) is now offering seasonal influenza (flu) vaccinations for all active duty military members, TRICARE beneficiaries, Department of Defense (DoD) civilians where influenza vaccination is written in their position description as a condition of employment, DoD civilians and contractors specifically required to be immunized for continuity of operations, reservists, and foreign military members. Stop by the clinic and get yours today!

WHEN CAN I GET VACCINATED?

Vaccines will be given on a walk-in basis, no appointment is necessary. This season, under the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations, no FluMist will be provided by the Department of Defense, CDC found it offered no protection against flu for children 2 through 17 years of age last season.
Flu vaccine will be administrated at NHCQ Mainside Immunizations Clinic, located on the first floor, Hallway F, during the hours of 0730 and 1530, Monday through Friday.  TBS personnel can visit the TBS Clinic between 0800 and 1530.  WNY BHC personnel can visit these clinics from 0700-1500. All other DoD civilians requesting vaccination at the clinic will be required to complete a DD Form 2569, Other Health Insurance (OHI) or present OHI card before receiving immunization.
