The Research and Engineering Directorate is responsible for directing and managing the core research and engineering capabilities at the NASA John H. Glenn Research Center. The directorate executes research, technology development, and engineering functions in support of NASA missions.

The technical competencies in the directorate include research and develop of aeronautics and space propulsion systems, high temperature and harsh environments materials and structures, chemical, electrical, mechanical and nuclear power systems, and microwave, RF and optical communication systems.

We are a highly skilled, multidisciplined, diverse team recognized and sought by customers and stakeholders as a vital partner in advancing NASA’s missions in aeronautics and robotic/human space flight.
