Concealed Firearm Review Board Open Position

The Concealed Firearms Review Board currently has an open position for a board member. Board members are appointed by the Commissioner of Public Safety to serve a four-year term. Quarterly meetings are held at the BCI building in Taylorsville, Utah. Interested persons may learn more about board duties on-line at http://le.utah.gov/xcode/Title53/Chapter5/53-5-S703.html. A letter of interest and résumé may be submitted to aedwards@utah.gov.

Applications will be accepted through February 17, 2017.

 

Important – Design Changes to Concealed Firearm Permit Card

On or about May 15, 2016, BCI will be making changes to the design of the Utah Concealed Firearm Permit card. All cards issued after May 15 will include new features. All cards issued prior to May 15 will continue to be valid until the expiration date listed on the card.  To view an example of the new card please follow this link.

 

 

Fraud Alert

The Utah Department of Public Safety has been made aware of a scam involving our Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) Division. Some people have received emails advising that there is a Legal Affidavit and Federal Complaint from their State, and it is tied to their social security number.  They are then instructed to call a phone number and are asked to send money to clear it up. One of the phone numbers used is 916-476-9639. Please DO NOT send any money to this group. It is a fraud.

Please use caution and do not renew your Utah CFP through any site other than the official Utah DPS site.  We have received notification that there are other websites that indicate that you can renew your Utah Concealed Firearm Permit (CFP).  These are not connected in any way to the Utah renewal website.  Please be aware that the only website to renew your Utah CFP is:  https://secure.utah.gov/concealed-firearms.
