The Office of Naval Research (ONR) coordinates, executes, and promotes the science and technology programs of the United States Navy and Marine Corps.

(35) Supports the Navy’s power project needs, fostering the technology development of naval aircraft, structures, propulsion, autonomy, energetic, directed energy and electric weapons.

ONR's biennial 2017 Naval Future Force Science and Technology (S&T) Expo will take place July 20-21, 2017. The event will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The Expo, co-sponsored by the American Society of Naval Engineers, is the premier S&T event for the Navy and Marine Corps.

New App for Hearing Health Information

Hearing AppHearing loss and tinnitus (commonly referred to as ringing in the ears) are among the most common disability claims submitted to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. To counteract this threat, ONR is sponsoring the development of a new app to help warfighters learn about hearing protection on their mobile Android devices—and snap close-up selfies of themselves wearing earplugs to see if they’re using them properly.
