1918 - During World War I, Maj. Gen. William J. Snow became the first chief of the field artillery and served until Dec. 19, 1927.
1920 - Gen. John J. Pershing visited Fort Reno, Okla.on an Army-wide inspection tour.
1967 - During the Vietnam War, the Officer Candidate School at Robinson Barracks, Fort Sill, was re-designated as the Officer Candidate Brigade, U.S. Army Artillery and Missile School. Fort Sill honors the generations of officers produced and the school itself at the Fort Sill Artillery OCS Hall of Fame and Durham Hall, 3025 Austin Road (west of Jared Monti Hall).
