The Economics and Statistics Administration (ESA) releases 12 monthly and quarterly Principal Federal Economic Indicators collected by its constituent bureaus: the U.S. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). In their public comments, the Secretary and ESA's Under Secretary and Chief Economist put the indicators into a national and global economic context.

This has been a great job. It has been a privilege to lead a government Bureau that includes dedicated statisticians, economists, policy advisors, software developers and data scientists. Our operational and management team is deeply dedicated to the mission of producing data and statistics to drive policy makers, innovators, non-profits, charities, and people around the country.

Cover art for the Estimating the Investment and Job Creation Impact of the EB-5 Program report.At the request of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Economics and Statistics Administration (ESA) of the Department of Commerce (DOC) conducted an assessment of the EB-5 program to determine its size and its contribution to the U.S. economy. To accomplish this, we examined individual projects that were active during a two-year period, FY2012 and FY2013, and compiled a new dataset that includes the number of EB-5 projects, the number of investors, the amount of EB-5 and non-EB-5 related investment spending and the resulting expected1 job creation.
