• Reclamation Monitoring Hyrum Dam Due to High Reservoir Inflow

  

  The Bureau of Reclamation is monitoring Hyrum Dam near Hyrum, Utah, due to unseasonably high reservoir inflow and likelihood of increased releases from the dam. As a precautionary measure, Reclamation issued an Emergency Action Plan Response Level I on February 10, 2017, which is the least serious of the three response levels. “This action is a precautionary and responsible measure to ensure proper communication among response and management agencies, as well as appropriate monitoring during this high inflow event,” said Wayne Pullan, Reclamation’s Provo Area Office Manager. • Reclamation Urges Visitors to Take Caution at Lake Berryessa as Lake Levels Rise

  

  The Bureau of Reclamation has announced that the reservoir at Lake Berryessa is expected to reach 440 feet of elevation and begin flowing into the spillway, known as the Glory Hole, due to high levels of precipitation and runoff into the reservoir. Visitors are encouraged to use caution in and around the reservoir during this time. Please think “SAFETY FIRST.” Increased interest in the Glory Hole is expected to generate traffic congestion along State Route 128 in the vicinity of Monticello Dam.   Since the first event held 1992 at Banks Lake, Washington, the Bureau of Reclamation and the C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation have worked together to improve accessibility to outdoor recreation on Reclamation's reservoirs for disabled and disadvantaged children.
