Coast Guard Yellow Ribbon Program (CG YRP)


The Coast Guard YRP program promotes member readiness and resiliency by connecting members and families with timely information and resources throughout the reserve component deployment and reintegration cycle. Military Overseas Deployment stressors require a support network to meet the rigors of reserve deployment. The Coast Guard YRP program delivers key information specific to the deployment cycle and apprises members and families of changes to reserve benefits, policy and services. Typical YRP events include presentations on: Financial Planning, Legal Counseling, Healthcare, Education Benefits and much more.
   
Reserve Force Readiness System

Reserve Force Readiness System (RFRS)


The Assistant Commandant for Human Resources (CG-1), developed and implemented RFRS Coast Guard wide to assist unit commanders, commanding officers, officers-in-charge, deputy/assistant commandants, and chiefs of headquarters staff elements achieve mobilization readiness of their assigned reservists while providing increased augmentation capacity to their respective commands. RFRS leverages the accomplishments of existing senior reservists assigned at commands that are performing leadership roles and interface functions between the Active Component (AC) and the Reserve Component (RC). RFRS is a RC mission support system which optimizes the organization, administration, recruiting, instruction, and training of the Coast Guard Reserve.
   
Reserve Program Administrators

Reserve Program Administrators (RPAs)


Reserve Program Administrators (RPAs) are specialists that fill an essential role in managing the Coast Guard Reserve Program. RPAs are primarily placed at Headquarters, Areas, Districts and Sectors to focus on Reserve personnel management to ensure readiness and surge requirements are met. RPAs usually fill roles in Reserve policy and personnel management, budget management, Reserve Forces Readiness Staff and Port Security Units.
   
Senior Enlisted Reserve Advisor

Senior Enlisted Reserve Advisor (SERA)


SERAs are assigned to administer the Reserve program and are not required to maintain operational competencies. They report directly to unit commanding officer or officer-in-charge, in coordination with the executive officer/executive petty officer, to advise the command on Reserve policy, training, individual reservist issues, and Reserve billet management.

Reserve and Military Personnel Directorate, Commandant (CG-13)


CG-13 provides the Coast Guard a Ready Reserve Force that embodies the competencies necessary to perform Maritime Homeland Security; Domestic and Expeditionary Support to National Defense; and Response to Domestic Disasters, both natural and man-made. Provide an Active Duty Force to support all missions of the Service.

The Office of Reserve Affairs, CG-131 at Coast Guard Headquarters serves as the program manager for Reserve management. CG-131 creates policy, manages budget, conducts evaluation and provides information.

Coast Guard Retiree Services Program


The Coast Guard Retiree Services Program serves Coast Guard military retirees and eligible surviving family members by proactively keeping the lines of communication open to provide regular retiree information, retiree benefits advice, and services, when needed. The Coast Guard Retiree Services Program policy framework provides the network and organizational structure that reinforces and provides the mutual benefit between Coast Guard and the Coast Guard military retiree community.
   
Reserve Forces Policy Board

Reserve Forces Policy Board


The Reserve Forces Policy Board is, by law, a federal advisory committee within the Office of the Secretary of Defense. As mandated by Congress, it serves as an independent adviser to provide advice and recommendations directly to the Secretary of Defense on strategies, policies, and practices designed to improve and enhance the capabilities, efficiency, and effectiveness of the reserve components.
