The cardiac initiative is a collaboration between the Montana Cardiovascular Health Program and the Cardiac Workgroup, a statewide group of health professionals that was formed in 2009.  The purpose of the initiative is to:

  1. Improve quality of care in Montana for heart attack patients by creating a statewide coordinated care program.
  2. Provide Critical Access Hospitals with the tools in the setting of acute myocardial infarction through evidence-based care plans and transfer protocols that are specific to the facility’s needs and situation.
