What is the purpose of the research study?
To understand brain function in individuals who may be at a higher risk than others for drug addiction.
Who can participate in the study?
This study is accepting men and women who:
- Are 18 to 55 years of age
- Are currently smoking cigarettes
What will participants be asked to do?
The study consists of one study visit of about 4 hours.
Participants will:
- Receive a physical exam
- Provide a urine sample
- Have a MRI brain scan while performing tasks
- Complete questionnaires
- Perform tasks on a computer
Where is the study taking place?
The NIDA Intramural Research Program is located on the Johns Hopkins Bayview campus in east Baltimore.
Will there be any cost to participate?
There is no cost for participation.
Will I receive payment of some kind?
All study participants will receive money for their participation in this study.
