Environment and Public Works Committee
The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee has jurisdiction over legislation dealing with air quality; construction and maintenance of highways; environmental policy, research and development; fisheries and wildlife; flood control and improvements of rivers and harbors, including environmental aspects of deepwater ports; noise pollution; nonmilitary environmental regulation and control of nuclear energy; ocean dumping; and public works, bridges and dams.

Clean Air and Nuclear Safety Subcommittee
Senator Voinovich is the ranking member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee's Subcommittee on Clean Air, Climate Change and Nuclear Safety, which has jurisdiction over the reauthorization of the Clean Air Act, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, as well as other legislation pertaining to nuclear energy, wetlands, private property and safety. In this capacity Senator Voinovich is strongly committed to harmonizing our energy and environmental laws in order to provide strong protection for public health and the environment, while protecting our nation's economic prosperity by ensuring a clean, plentiful and affordable energy supply.

Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee
The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee oversees the organization and structure of the federal government. Specifically, the committee reviews legislation pertaining to the archives of the United States; budget and accounting measures, other than appropriations; census and collection statistics; congressional organization, except for issues that amend the rules or orders of the Senate; Federal Civil Service; government information; intergovernmental relations; municipal affairs of the District of Columbia; organization and management of United States nuclear export policy; organization and reorganization of the executive branch of government; the postal service; and the status of officers and employees of the United States.

Oversight of Government Management, the Federal Workforce and the District of Columbia Subcommittee
Senator Voinovich draws upon his extensive experience as the former mayor of Cleveland and governor of Ohio in his job as ranking member of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee's Subcommittee on the Oversight of Government Management, the Federal Workforce and the District of Columbia. He is committed to making sure the federal government has a well-managed, quality workforce and the taxpayers are getting the best "bang for their buck."

Foreign Relations Committee
As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senator Voinovich plays a key role in helping to craft international policies that foster stronger relations with other countries. As a leader in Southeast Europe affairs, the senator continues to help the region develop better relationships with the international community. He also continues to be a leading voice for a stable Middle East and victory in the Global War on Terror.
