The 13th APS Topical Conference on

Atomic Processes in Plasmas

Gatlinburg, Tennessee

April 22-25, 2002

Great Smoky Mountains

We cordially invite you to attend the Thirteenth APS Topical Conference on Atomic Processes in Plasmas that will be held April 22-25, 2002 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee at the Park Vista Resort Hotel and conference center. This meeting will mark the twenty-fifth anniversary of the inaugural conference held in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1977. Exploiting a unique opportunity, a number of conference sessions will be held jointly with the 3rd International Conference of Atomic and Molecular Data and Their Applications (ICAMDATA).

Topics covered by the conference include both atomic physics relevant to plasmas and plasma science dependent directly, or from a modeling or diagnostics point of view, on atomic processes. Broad classes of talks in recent years have been in the areas of laser-produced plasmas, magnetic confinement fusion, atomic theory, experiment, and data activities, Z-pinches, heavy-ion fusion, lighting, astrophysics, and low temperature and industrial plasmas.
