Competencies
Competencies are the measurable patterns of knowledge, skills, abilities, behaviors, and other characteristics that an individual needs to successfully perform work roles or occupational functions. The competencies outlined for the acquisition profession focus on the need for business advisors with customer service orientation, flexibility, strategic focus, and integrity and ethics.

The essential acquisition competencies required for federal architectural/engineering employees. These competencies detail the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to acquire and manage architectural/engineering services for an agency.
