EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

The Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA) is actively seeking highly qualified and motivated applicants to serve as uniformed Federal Police Officers at the Pentagon, Washington, D.C. We are currently hiring for Police Officer positions with a starting salary of $39,894-$44,789 with a current top out of $71,840.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a United States citizen
  
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  
• Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance
  
• Possess a valid drivers license and good driving record
  
• Have not been convicted of any offense involving domestic violence or have been convicted of a felony
  
• Successfully complete oral interview, medical examination, physical fitness evaluation, drug testing and a favorable background check
  
• Successfully complete a 10-week basic police-training program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) located in Glynco, Georgia or Artesian Springs, New Mexico
  
• Successfully complete an in-house 12-week training and evaluation program upon completion of FLETC and upon return to the Pentagon
  
• If prior active duty military service, must have DD Form 214 showing honorable discharge

Physical Requirements:

• All candidates will be given a thorough physical examination and a physical evaluation battery
  
• Weight must be in proportion to height
  
• Vision must be at least 20/100 in each eye, correctable to 20/20
  
• Hearing Test

• Sick leave is earned at a rate of 13 days per year, regardless of years of service
  10 paid holidays annually
  
• Compensation:
  * Police Officer positions start at a salary of $39,894 – $44,782 with a full performance level of $71,840 (salary fluctuates with federal pay tables and experience)
  * Overtime is compensated at the rate of 1 1/2 times your hourly rate for work
  * Night shift is paid at an additional 10% of the hourly rate for work
  * Sunday premium is paid at 25% of base salary
  
• On site fitness center provided free of charge.

Once you have successfully completed all phases of your recruit training and have the required time-in-grade, you may apply for specialized training and assignments in the following areas:

Field Training Officer (specialty position salary at a 6% higher rate of pay)
Motorcycle Squad
Bike Squad
K-9 Unit (specialty position salary at a 6% higher rate of pay)
Emergency Response Team (specialty position salary at a 6% higher rate of pay)
Protective Service Unit (specialty position salary at a 6% higher rate of pay)
Traffic Enforcement
Court Liaison & Evidence
Police Operations Center
Operations & Communications Center
Logistic and Fleet Management Unit
Inspections Section
Administration
