The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts archives and maintains the records of the Judicial Conference Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure – as well as those of the advisory committees on appellate, bankruptcy, civil, criminal and evidence rules – and is charged with providing public access to the records.

Archived Rules Comments

The Rules Committees archive public comments received on past proposals to amend the Federal Rules of Practice and Procedure. View the Proposed Amendments Published for Public Comment, to see if there are proposed amendments open for public comment.

Archived Rules Suggestions

The Advisory Rules Committees evaluate past suggestions to amend the Federal Rules of Practice and Procedure in the first instance. An archive of rules suggestions is available here.
