What is WIC?
WIC (Women, Infants and Children) is a nutrition program that provides healthy foods for you, your infant, and your child plus helpful nutrition information – all at no cost for those who qualify. WIC also offers breastfeeding support and referrals to health care, immunizations and other community services.
Who can benefit from WIC?
- Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Women who have recently been pregnant
- Infants under 12 months of age
- Children under 5 years of age
Am I eligible for WIC?
To be eligible for WIC, you must meet the WIC income guidelines.
If you are currently receiving Medicaid, Temporary Cash Assistance or Food Stamps you are automatically eligible. However you do not have to be on any of these programs to meet WIC income eligibility requirements.
- You must be living in the State of Florida.
- Citizenship is not required.
How can I enroll in WIC?
If you are eligible, you need to make an appointment with a WIC counselor. Please call 954-767-5111 and the WIC staff will help you to determine your eligibility and to make an appointment.

WIC Locations
WIC services are provided at four DOH-Broward health centers and three other locations.
Note: The WIC-South Broward office has moved to 8374 Pines Boulevard, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024. Also, a new WIC-Lauderdale Lakes office has opened as of December 2, 2015, at 4481 N. State Road 7, Lauderdale Lakes, FL 33319.

Breastfeeding Services:
WIC provides breastfeeding support and education through individual counseling, peer support, and education classes. WIC provides a 24/7 breastfeeding support line for WIC clients.
